Debbie Riddle

debbie_riddleDebbie Riddle is a partner at Lee Mather Co. and the Managing Broker. Lee Mather Co. recently joined forces with Ascent Real Estate.  She is a Second Generation Realtor and daughter of company founder, Lee Mather.

Growing up in Coronado, the Lee Mather Co. offices were a second home. From “Girl Friday” to Bookkeeping, she learned the business from the back office. Licensed since 1977 and positive that a real estate career was NOT in her future, Debbie took the education and work ethic that she received and pursued a career in accounting, culminating in Accounting Manager for a Japanese trading company that was marketing computers in the US. It was at this point in her career that Debbie met future husband, Tom Riddle.

Tom’s dream was to embark on a lifelong dream of sailing his 38’ sailboat to Tahiti. This dream soon became Debbie’s too and, in October 1988, they departed Long Beach, CA for what would become a three year odyssey to the west coast of Mexico, French Polynesia, Hawaii and eventually back to Southern California…a total of 15,000 miles and countless memories!

It was on one of their 22 day passages that Debbie and Tom planned the next stage of their lives. There were 3 criteria:

1. They wanted to work together
2. They wanted to reduce their cost of living but not their standard of living
3. They did not want to re-enter the corporate world where ones value declines as their age increases.

It may seem obvious to the reader but it was not to our intrepid voyagers! Eventually, a light bulb went on they said “Real Estate!”

Commencing upon their return to San Diego in 1991, Debbie and Tom embarked on their careers in real estate. Learning that they both had a passion for the business, they built their real estate knowledge and clientele and, in 1998, bought the practice from Lee Mather, along with longtime friend and partner, Mike Herlihy.

Lee Mather Company, Coronado’s oldest independently owned and operated real estate brokerage has joined forces with Ascent Real Estate! Locally owned with a large San Diego County presence, its the best of both worlds! Ascent Real Estate is locally-owned, independent residential real estate brokerage founded in San Diego in 2005.  Ascent Real Estates professional team of Realtors within their first decade of sales has tracked over $4 Billion in sales volume.

You can expect the same great service and commitment to service that you have come to expect over the past 62+ years from Lee Mather Company.
